This one-day workshop - back by popular demand - gives everyone involved in supervision a chance: to refresh existing skills; develop new skills; and to rekindle your passion for this unique relationship. Super-vision is a transforming process for both supervisor and supervisee. We will look at which model of supervision best suits your personality and modality, and we’ll explore the creative side of supervision and how and when it is best used, both as a supervisor and as a supervisee.
We will also look at the importance of creating a safe and containing space, which allows the supervisee to be fully open and reflective on their work with their clients. We will pay particular attention to less-obvious embodied emotional responses. Subtle feelings, not always expressed, can produce a powerful effect on the client, supervisee and supervisor. We will practice the attention and language needed to notice and comment on the otherwise unexpressed flow of feelings - which can be so illuminating.
There will be the opportunity to explore action work, artwork, and a variety of projective methods. The aim of the workshop is to give you a chance to get supervision on your supervision in a supportive and creative way. As I believe supervision should be a positive experience, I imagine we will find ways to use humour and spontaneity to enliven the process.
