This is a one-day workshop for anyone interested in the meaning of dreams and wanting to use them in their work with adults, children or in their own lives. We will explore ways to help ourselves and our clients make use of dreams and their narratives, unlocking the significance and unique meaning of the dream to the dreamer. This can be very informative: giving us clarity; revealing things that we need to consider; freeing us up; and giving us direction.
The theories and methods we will use include those of Carl Jung, Gestalt Theory, Psychodrama, Ericsonian, action, metaphor, architypes and puns. We will also look at ways of changing recurring or unpleasant dreams, including those of people suffering from trauma.
We invite you to bring along a dream – old or new. If you have difficulty in remembering a dream: set your alarm for 3am (the deepest dream cycle period); lie very still for a few moments to recall the dream; and only then write it down and bring those notes with you.
