The focus of these workshops is on gaining skills and personal development. I have a person centred orientation, but people from all orientations are welcome and attend. Certificates of attendance are issued for BACP and UKCP CPD purposes.
Currently there is a one-day online workshop in May, and the Creative Supervision Certificate Course is running online for the second year in a row (twenty-five years in total), starting in October.
Those who think that Carl Rogers’ work belongs in the past, may not appreciate the total relevance of the core conditions in today’s world. They are fundamental to keeping our humanity intact and having a positive impact on other people.
In this experiential workshop, as part of looking at the core conditions, we will revisit what it means to have unconditional positive regard, and yet to be congruent.
This popular person-centred creative supervision of counselling certificate training course has been running successfully for twenty-five years. This is the second year running online.
It is accredited by the BPA, who are organisational members of the UKCP.
The course starts on 2 October 2021.
This course is run online by Jenny Biancardi along with a second trainer, Sara Mathews.

Recent workshops and courses give an indication of what may be run again in the future, and they are also useful reference for people who want to buy me in for some in-house training (when Covid allows). Some workshops tend to run several times per year, annually, or once every few years - these are only shown once below.
This is a one-day workshop for anyone interested in the meaning of dreams and wanting to use them in their work with adults, children or in their own lives.
We will explore ways to help ourselves and our clients make use of dreams and their narratives, unlocking the significance and unique meaning of the dream to the dreamer. This can be very informative: giving us clarity; revealing things that we need to consider; freeing us up; and giving us direction.
The day is run by Jenny Biancardi.
This one-day workshop - back by popular demand - gives everyone involved in supervision a chance: to refresh existing skills; develop new skills; and to rekindle your passion for this unique relationship. Super-vision is a transforming process for both supervisor and supervisee. We will look at which model of supervision best suits your personality and modality, and we will also give time to look at the creative side of supervision and how and when it is best used.
A variety of ways of working will be explored and you will get a chance to get feedback. We will also review some of the latest discussions around the responsibility the supervisor holds, and we will look at the importance of creating a safe and containing space, which allows the supervisee to be fully open and reflective on their work with their clients.

Many counsellors and therapists find that they have less time allocated for their clients, particularly if they are working for large organisations. Action work is often an exciting and effective way to get to the heart of a problem quickly. It can also be fun, and often avoids the stuck or repetitive place that we can all get into.
This is an opportunity to meet with other therapists and supervisors and together to explore some creative ways to still work effectively within the new requirements and limits on our practice. I see this as an opportunity for us to share our experiences, support each other, and find some ways to stay positive and authentic within the new boundaries.
This open workshop is taking place at Beadnell - many of you will know how much I enjoy staying there - and the venue directly overlooks the sea, with steps down onto the beach.
